Less Than One Week…

And the winner of SYTYCW will be getting an email, or phone call, or something!

It’s crazy to wonder how many aspiring writers have entered this contest?  Anyone want to bet?  This year people had to send in a full manuscript, so that has a lot of people guessing that there were fewer entries.  I think last year’s contest had around 800 entries.  Yikes!

Funny about contests-obviously you enter with the hopes that you’re going to win.  But then I go through a phase where I’m thinking how could I possibly think I even have a shot at being the winner?  Out of all those people who entered, what are the odds that I’ll be chosen?  Winning a lottery would be more likely! Why did I even enter?

All the angst, the nerves, the daydreaming, the phone stalking, the inbox refreshing on the announcement date…

Ah, yes, I guess it has something to do with the grand prize being PUBLICATION with Harlequin.

So good luck to all of us who entered, who tried, who put their hearts out there.

It’s going to be a crazy few days!

I’m not normally one to ‘quote’ quotes, but … today I make an exception to this long standing rule of mine …

“Some people dream of success… while others wake up and work hard at it.”

It seems to me that you are one of ‘those people’ who work tirelessly at your careerS (yes, capital ‘S’ as you’ve got more than one!), your children, your marriage, family, friends and somewhere, in the midst of all the chaos and late nights you find time to pursue your passion for writing. Awesome.

No matter what happens, you’re leaps and bounds of those who say ‘what if’ – you’ve just gotten out there and ‘done’.

    And that is really admirable.

Oh JJ, you totally made me cry. I just sat down to send off my new MS to agent and read your post. You made me feel like a superstar :) Just what I needed to hear. Thank you for all your support and your countless hours of listening. Guacamole definitely on me at the Troll’s next week!

First off, GREAT photo find!! And second, your book is SO charming, so loveable, and so witty. Contests are such torture because so much is riding on them, but you have nothing to lose and so much to gain…well, maybe sanity to lose? :-)

Haha, yeah the pic is priceless! Thanks so much-I’m so glad we ‘found’ each other, lol. Yes, sanity lost.
